Post 9: Pagan and Witchcraft Music

Music is accompanied by instruments and voice. A form of communication through the sound produced with tone, pitch and rate. We've been familiar with the usual pop and rock music. But there was one type of music that only few were aware of.

Pagan Music or Witchcraft Music is a project of Alfred Surenyan. This project started in 2006 as a means of research, study, organization, and practice of the music of the Neo- Pagan Community. This type of music were performed by Pagan Musicians. I found from an article entitled "Canadian Pagan Musicians" You Won’t Want to Miss by Sable Aradia from "witchesandpagans" the list of musicians who share the same type of music. It is amazing to see people who are really into this culture and respect one another. They even create music that made them unite as one.

This type of music expresses more of the culture and their respect to Neo-Pagan Community. A lot of people thought that when we talk about "Pagan and Witches" they're the bad guys who use magik to curse people. That is completely wrong. This community is united to protect people and the environment. They were the healers of our world. People who are not familiar with this type of culture won't be able to understand the goal of this community. I suggest you to visit couple of articles that can help you get familiar to what i want to say regarding this culture: "Article 1" and "Article 2"

We may not be aware of what the world has on the other side but we all we need to do is to be open to them. They are not different from us. They just have different beliefs like everyone else. And their music might help us understand the world they are in.

Another article entitled "Out of the Broom Closet, into the Rave: 'Pop Pagans: Paganism and Popular Music" by John L. Murphy of "popmatters" and "How Pop went Pagan" by Nell Frizell of theguradian inspired me to dig deeper into this topic. We actually did not even notice how Paganism was involved into music in the late 60's. The airwaves have also been ruled by Pagan music. There comes Metal, Rock, Pop, Country and much more. There are no complete difference between the type of music we were familiar with and Pagan music only because we cannot really determine which one's played by Pagan musicians. When we hear songs being played, it is the meaning and the soul of the song we are after, and not the culture of it.
Music is one type of element that can make the world unite into one. When we all hear a song, our hearts sing with. It does't matter whether this song came from the culture we don't belong or from the artists we love so much. By means of music, we can create a message to communicate and send it to the world. 

Post 8: How The Beatles Affects our Lives?

What is the first thing comes out in your mind when you hear the word or the band, The Beatles? I myself, The Beatles is one of the most famous band in the year 1960s. I know that they influence the people in terms of their music. Especially now, the old people who knows about them is more influenced. I also know that they are very popular in their rock music. But some of our parents love them and their songs and sometimes they told us some of their music and told us about them. Now, I can say that The Beatles is very influenced us nowadays because they are one of the legendary of music.

My first article is entitled "The Beatles Influence" by Billy Buc in the site "Billy Buc.HubPages". He is one of the fans of The Beatles. He very loves the music of The Beatles. Actually written in the article, he said there that even his son loves their music because his father told about them and their music. The author said that when he was in fifteenth during Christmas vacation, he heard the song of The Beatles in the radio entitled "I Want To Hold Your Hand". The DJ of the radio said there was a new song by a group out of England and they just might be the next hot group. But He guess that maybe someday, that group will become popular. In the article written there that the group called The Beatles have sold over one billion units in the year 2012. Lennon and McCartney combined their composition and they wrote over 180 songs and they are the most successful song writing duo in history.

The author said that he very loves their music. Even now fifty years later, he can still remember and catch himself humming one of their song. Even his son grew up with the influenced of his father in the group of The Beatles. Now I think that the son of his son and so on will be influence by The Beatles.

My second article entitled "The Beatles and Their Influence on Culture" by Rudolf Hecl in the site "Muni". In sixties, The Beatles is the very popular in their active career in their time. During Beatlemania, when their fame is got high, they had a great impact on the young and a strong influenced on everyone else especially the men's fashion, they copied the fashion of The Beatles. They also influenced to us their hairstyle, listening to loud music, clothes and many more. On the other hand, according to MacDonald, The Beatles changed the society especially the rock and roll music. Example, it was more the form than the content; the loudness of the music, rather than the lyrics. Moreover, The Beatles also influenced the British rock included more of spiritual.

It also written that The Beatles in sixties is very fantastic and they are very rich. Even though Today, since The Beatles stop playing together, some of the members are still best known as ex-Beatles. The Beatles is still alive today and their legacy. Many of musician nowadays has inspired by The Beatles from their past music. But even though the group stopped playing, a lot of people still admire the passion and music of the group, The Beatles.

Post 7: How Important is the Music Education?

All I know in music education is just learning its history and where the music comes from or your teachers will discuss about the different classification of music. But I observed that music can help the children's education, not its where it come from but the music itself. I know that music can give us lots of benefit. But when I research about this article, I noticed that music can helps our brain's performance. It also help to improve and enhance our brain especially to the students.

An article entitled "The Benefits of Music Education" by Laura Lewis Brown in the site "PBS: Public Broadcasting Service". In the first part, the author said that learning the do-re-mis can help the children to be excellent in ways beyond the basic ABCs. It state that music must teach to the people and they must also experience it in their lives because by singing, listening, and moving is really bringing  a very serious benefit to the them. In addition, they found out that learning music facilities learning other subjects and improvement skills that people certainly use in
other areas.

You know that when we speak of education is more on children. So, I will talk about the music education of the children. Written in the article, It says that music can improve the language development of a student. It state that a children must listen or adapt him or her in the music because when he or she growing up, it would help him or her language or speaking. So, practice your children so that he or she can adapt themselves from their environment. Now, it is about the IQ of student or a children. It say that it is very advantage to a students when they are listen or given a music lesson in their childhood because their IQ will have a small increase. The last one is our brain works harder. It is written there that when you are adapt by music or you are a musician, your brain works harder because when you are musician and you are playing an instrument, your brain works. It is good because your brain will not get old and you exercise your brain and will improve your memory.

My second article is entitled "How important is music education in schools?" by Jennifer Cerbasi in the site "Fox News". In the article, she explain the feeling of the students and children about the music and also she stated there the importance of music. Written there that students must be participated in different organization related in music because in that way, they can love music in their age. The teachers and parents say that studying music teaches discipline, perseverance, and work ethic. In the article, someone shared her story about her son. Her son noticed his improvement in terms of patience, teamwork, discipline, and respect. He also improve his reading comprehension including creating mental images, and recognition of patterns.

In addition, music education is important in school because you can learn music and music can lead you to success. Students who study and learned music or from musical experiences is very benefited. You can now travel in different country in the world and participate in summer music festivals. all of this will be possible if you expose to music lessons and ensembles.
